Hi Jackie here with my layout using stamps.

For this layout I stamped on my background cardstock using some background stamps in my stash, but as you can see after adding the photograph most of the stamp area got covered over.

You can still some around the edges, which I like as it just gives some added details to my page.

I also used a border stamp,  which I stamped onto patterned paper and cut around the edges and added to the bottom of my photographs.
