Traveler's Notebook | Michelle Mills (UglyBugPlans) | Journalling

Hello scrap addicts, I hope that you re all keeping well? It's Michelle here from UglyBugPlans with my take on this months topic of journalling. I have a bit of a different video that just a process where I've included a chatty element at the beginning where I explain how and where I do most of my journalling and some different habits that I have and I show you a couple of examples of this.

The process part of the video is rather short with my focus on the actual journalling which I created using some Tim Holtz Big Chat stickers. I knew the kind of sentence that I wanted to create and then chose random word stickers to emphasise and give my journalling an interesting element.

Because I knew the page with the journalling would look cluttered if I tried to embellish too much I decided that it would be the perfect place to use the stencil from this months sponsor Pretty My Page, my original thought had been to use some embossing paste to give the page texture but then I wanted my journalling to be quite fluid so I used a coordinating stamping pad which gave the pattern a lovely depth.

I really hope that you enjoy this video and that if you haven't already subscribed to the UK Scrap Addicts blog and YouTube that you will consider doing so.

Week in the Life | Michelle Mills (UglyBugPlans) | UK Scrap Addicts | Clustering

Hey UKScrapAddicts, I hope you are well? You probably know by now that this months theme that we are covering is "Clustering" as in the clustering of embellishments. To be honest I wasn't really aware that this was a "thing" I just thought we stuck our embellies where we fancied them but since the topic came up I have been noticing patterns in not only my own layouts but the layouts of other YouTubers  and have noticed a few things:

Most of us work in threes, three colours, three embellishments etc, I'm not sure why but it definitely looks more pleasing to the eye.

We use embellishment clusters to draw our eye to certain points in the photo we are scrapping or to draw our eye around the page of a pocket page layout. If my layouts are quite busy in one area yet lack in another I tend to add an embellishment cluster there to bring your eye to that spot.

For this layout I'm using the last LottieLovesPaper kit, its such a bright and fun kit and the puffy stickers are to die for!

I hope you enjoy the video, you can find me over on my blog or YouTube channel and of course I will see you back here the same time next month.

Much love

Snapshot | Michelle Mills (UglyBugPlans) | Sketch

I decided to go with the single page sketch from the 2 choices we had this month, I don't tend to have double page speeds ion my albums and the single sketch was adorable. You have seen it a few times already this month so I won't share the picture of the actual sketch, which was designed by the lovely Laura Rumble.

All of the products I used are from the new Stampin' Up! catalogue and I chose them because the 6x6 papers match the journalling cards, I have been suffering terribly with hay fever so I needed to keep it simple.

I chose the photo and the title as they were made perfectly, I was trying to take a really natural photo of my daughter playing the drums when she turned and poked her tongue out at me the cheeky missy! I do love how it shows her character off and I knew I wanted this is our family album this year!

You can view the complete process on the UK Scrap Addicts YouTube Channel HERE!

Thank you so much for watching/reading I cannot wait until next month! Until then you can find me on YouTube, my Blog and Instagram!
