Summer Escape | Terri Morris | Punches

Hello there UK Scrap Addicts, I'm here to introduce this month's new theme which is 'punches'. I'm sure if you are like me then you have an abundance of neglected punches in a box or drawer in your home. I loved my punches but they have been gathering dust in my craft room for a while now.

I pulled out 3 different punches determined to use them on my layout this month. I have used the Martha Stewart 'butterfly', Stampin' Up tag and bow builder punches. These are some of my favourites and very much all rounders.

I punched numerous butterflies from patterned paper to use as embellishments.

Nuvo drops in a scattered diagonal pattern across the page add subtle colour to the white cardstock background.

A line of different sized tags made from patterned paper that co-ordinate with the butterflies add colourful detail to the bottom of the layout and provide an area to place the Bramble Fox perspextive title.

We love to see your layouts using this month's theme so don't forget to tag us on Instagram and put them on our Facebook group.

Happy Scrapping!

No Peeking! / Jackie Ashton / Grab 5

Hi Jackie here, my turn with this months theme - Grab 5.

My five items are

Patterned papers
Wood Veneer
Perspextives
Ink
Die-Cuts and Enamel dots

I started the layout by adding some ink details to my cardstock.

I selected some patterned papers from Echo Park - Celebrating Christmas and distressed the edges before adding to the top and the bottom edges of the cardstock.

I mounted my photographs onto some patterned papers, which I distressed the edges and added over the inked details.

For my title I used a Bramble Fox Christmas one - ‘No Peeking’, which was perfect for my photographs.

Finishing the layout with some wood veneer and enamel dots.

I enjoyed putting this layout together and love the challenge.

Thats me for this year, I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

See you next year.

Smile | Sheena Rowlands | Grab 5

Hi there Scrap Addicts x Sheena here again.

This month we have all been set a "Grab 5" challenge. To be honest I wasn't totally sure what this was but after watching a few youtube videos I started gathering my supplies together.

For my Grab 5 I chose - patterned papers, Vicki Boutin art crayons, embroidery threads, some Bramble Fox perspectives and finally  a selection of mini embellishments.

I chose the patterned papers as I tend to hoard pretty papers rather than use them, the crayons as I'm keen to find ways to use them in my scrapping since meeting Vicki Boutin earlier this year, the threads as I used to be a keen cross stitcher many years ago, the perspectives as I like trying new products and the sequins and drops as my collection of mini embellishments never seems to go down regardless of how many I use.

Smile.

I started off by mixing some of the art crayons with water and painting circles on my cardstock by hand and leaving them to dry.

Over these circles I hand sewed in a petal stitch in  co ordinating colours. This took me much longer than I anticipated but I was pleased with the finished result.

I matted my photo on a selection of the Paige Evans patterned papers and cut flowers from the leftovers to arrange around the circles to soften the look. I finished with adding sequins in the flower centres and a perspective as my title plus a couple of butterflies.

We would love for you to try this Grab 5 challenge and share your what you create over on our FB page.

Till next time x

Little Dreamer Boy | Terri Morris | Grab 5

As the festive season is in full swing I have a non- Christmas related layout for a change. This month here at UK Scrap Addicts we have an Inkie Quill inspired theme - Grab 5.

The idea is that you pick five different items from your stash and make sure your use them all on the layout. You can use other items but you must use the 5 piece you chose.

These are my Grab 5 items - Maggie Holmes 'chasing dreams' 6x6 paper pad, rose gold paperclips, perspextives, roller stamp and Black and White striped bow.

I used all the items above but I also added in a few extras too!

I backed a feather cut file from Paige Evans with the 6x6 paper pad and also drew 2 on the background using glittery sketch pens in the Silhouette Cameo.

I used 2 different alphas and I hand drew a brush lettered word for the title. I love how the different fonts create a bold impact on the layout.

The good thing about grab 5 challenges is that it can give you a focus on what to use and help with that mountain of overwhelming stash many of us have accumulated.

Thanks for joining us here, on Facebook and Instagram.
Don't forget to share your layouts with us.

Happy Crafting!

Hogwarts Bound! | Giselle Homer | Tic Tac Toe

Hi everyone,

It's already August and I'm sure many of you will be on holiday taking lots of photos to scrap in the coming months. This month's theme is Tic Tac Toe, where we chose items in any direction, in a diagonal or straight line from the grid shown below. The choices should include the 'circles' from the centre of the grid. I chose Arrows, Circles and Washi Tape.

I've made an 8.5" x 11" layout this time using Simple Stories 'Say Cheese III' to go with this photo taken at platform 9.3/4! I began by backing the photo with a couple of sheets of patterned paper and a frame. Then I cut out the castle shape from one of the other papers in the set. This showed off my title well, it's a Perspextive from Bramble Fox a UK company that specialises in acrylic words.

Then I cut some footstep shapes using my Silhouette and added them below the secondary title words, which are mini Thickers from American Crafts.

I cut the border strips and added thin yellow Washi Tape to the edges.

Then I cut 2 circles for the journalling and added other embellishments including an acrylic arrow and a metal paper clip above the photo. The layout was finished by adding a variety of stars floating upwards to the top of the layout.

I hope you have fun and get some inspiration from this month's theme and don't forget to share your layouts with all the UK Scrap Addicts on Facebook and Instagram.

Till next month, Happy Scrapping!

Carpe Diem / Jackie Ashton / 6x6 Pads

Hi UK Scrappers,

I don’t know about you, but I love getting 6x6 pads with the collections, I tend to use them to layer behind my photographs or to die cut, but then I do end up with either bits cut out of a sheet, or an irregular piece that I don’t know what to do with it. As this months theme is to use 6x6 pads, I decided that not to do my usual thing with them, but to make a ‘messy’ jumble of papers as a background to my photograph.

Carpe Diem ...

I used the Crate Paper - Good Vibes collection, and randomly choose several sheets of patterned paper, distressed the edges and added to my cardstock - which I had previously added some distressed ink using the packaging technique to the background and stamped a few word phases over the ink.

I mounted my photograph on to some patterned paper, and placed this over the top of the messy pile of papers.

I finished the layouts with chipboard pieces, stickers and die-cuts from the collection.   As the photographs was taken in Disney I punched some ‘mickey heads’ in patterned paper, and added three clusters to my page.

I also added some cute ‘mickey head’ wood veneer.

For the title I used two perspextives from Bramble Fox.

How do you use your 6x6 pads? please share with us what you do, we would love to see them on our Facebook group.

Till next time ...

Good Times | Giselle Homer | 6 x 6 paper

Hi again everyone,

Today I'm sharing my version of a layout designed using 6" x 6" patterned paper. If you're like me, you'll have lots of these in your stash, so hopefully this month's theme will encourage you to use them!

Using Cocoa Vanilla's collection 'Boys Rule', I started by placing the 6" square in the centre of my background cardstock but it looked a bit small so I added the green border. I had this fun montage of selfies taken by my Grandson which I backed with two different papers and I added a clear sticker to it as well. I placed this over the square slightly beneath the lower edge. As the page still looked a bit empty I cut a frame measuring 0.5" wide and placed it over the background. I found some wild flower cut files in my Silhouette library, design number 79681, by Nic Squirrel - who's my favourite British cut file designer - to add to the right of the photo.

The title is from Bramble Fox who make lovely perspex word and phrases like this one.

I added more embellishments, word stickers and a flair from the 'Boys Rule' collection on either side of the photo and at the top left. A few enamel dots finished it off nicely!

I look forward to seeing your layouts on UKSA's Facebook page and hope this has inspired you to dig out all those 6" x 6" paper pads.

Till next month, happy scrapping!

Baby Boy Blue | Lou Thompson | One 6x4 photo

Hello scrappers and welcome to my 2nd piece for UKSA. This month's challenge was to make a layout using one 6x4 photo, so style wise, this was very much open to interpretation.

I had this gorgeous blue  and white coloured wooden board page I have been dying to use and remember this cute photo of my nephew I took when he was little. Has has the most amazing blue eyes  and a cute blue fluffy coat on so just goes great with this paper.

I have a few favourite mixed media items currently; Prima Impasto paints and Ranger Oxide inks. I chose a few paints and mixed them with modelling paste. I also took a few oxides in matching colours and used these along with the paste to add stenciling to the background. I am just loving blues and greens at the moment so really love the results.

From there it was fairly easy as I didn't want to loose all this lovely texture so kept it simple. I added die cuts and a journalling card, washi, a wooden circle, a resin flower, some stickers and chipboard alphas, a tassel and a perspex camera and word.

Here are some close ups and please so visit my YouTube channel to see the process. If you enjoy the video, please give me a thumbs up and maybe a comment so I know you like what I am doing :)

25 | Terri Morris | January Sketch

Well, I can't quite believe it's 2018 and the festive season is over for another year. For January we are all using this Page Maps Sketch. We would love you to join in and tag us on Instagram or Facebook.

I combined this sketch with one of my last days of my December Daily album. I altered the sketch slightly to adapt it to the 6x8 size.

I used two photos of my nieces with Facebook filters from Christmas Day. I had already created the no.25 DIY embellishment before so this layout came together very quickly. I already had all supplies out on the desk and loved using this paper collection. When using a sketch I try hard not to over think my layouts.

I love how striking this big white perspextive from Bramble Fox looks on the page.

I added some vertical and horizontal lines and faux stitching as indicated on the sketch.

I hope you've all had a fantastic Christmas and wish you all the best for the New Year ahead.

Happy Crafting!
