Logica CMG | Amy Kattenbelt | Hidden Journaling

Hello UK Scrap Addicts! Amy here, sharing my layout that features hidden journaling. This month spromt finally got me started on a project I had been planning since the start of the year, but kept putting off. My plan is to create a special 12x12 album full of layouts that really tell my story. To some what step away from the arty creativeness I enjoy about scrapbooking and to really focus on writing about my life experience. I want to create an album that future generations will be able to look at and get to know the real me, full of details that at the moment I take fore granted, that may even seem unimportant, but in time they will tell my story.

I decided to start with something that was pretty straight forward for me to journal about. Because to create my album successfully I am going to need to do a lot of writing! So I chose to write about my first graduate job. I want each layout in this album to feature an envelope that contains the journaling on A4 paper. I have used this bright summery collection from Paige Evans, mainly because I wanted to use the bike die cut as that was how i often traveled to my job.

I cut an envelope shape (designed by Paige Evans) out on my silhouette cameo, and printed out my journaling. I then wanted to create the effect of all the little pieces of die cut ephemera and lots of small photos tumbling out of this envelope.

Inside the envelope you can find my hidden journaling (I have blurred it slightly in these photos for privacy). I also put a large photo in the envelope too. When writing my journaling I really kept focusing on what I would love to be able to read about my ancestors, this idea really helped me to feel at ease with writing about myself.

I plan on creating lots of layouts to go into my special album, that will contains all sorts of my memories and life experience. I would love to hear from anyone who has created this sort of album already.

I hope you might consider creating a special album like this too, the new year would be a perfect time to start! Thank you for reading, and I wish you a very Happy New Year.

Chatsworth Selfies | Jackie Ashton | Hidden photos/Journalling

Hi Scrappers, Merry Christmas to you all - I really doubt anyone will be tearing themselves away from family and friends today (25th) to read this, so I hope you have had a great day celebrating this season and got loads of lovely goodies including craft supplies.

The theme this month is hidden photos / journalling so I’ve done a combination for my layout, adding a vellum envelope to my page with tags which includes photos and journalling.

Chatsworth Selfies - Joy

I recently visited Chatsworth which was all decorated for Christmas, and I took the opportunity to take a few selfies as we walked around.

As it Christmas I used the lovely Crate Paper - Snowflake collection.

After deciding where I was going to add my patterned papers.  I added some splatters of ink and stamping to the cardstock.  I tore one edge of the patterned papers and adding them to the cardstock, before adding my photograph to the left hand side of the page.

For my hidden journalling I added a vellum envelope to the right side of the page, and die cuts 4 tags large from white cardstock and one vellum tag the same size, and 3 small tags from patterned papers that I added between each of the large ones.

I attached the vellum tag, to the top of the stack of tags and added some word phases and a chipboard shape.

For each of the large tags I added a piece of patterned paper the the  bottom of each tag, with a piece of glitter paper at the top.
Underneath each photograph I added some colours thread on top of a punched vellum circle and added some puffy accents to each large tag.

For the small tags, I added some small chipboard pieces to each.

For the final tag I add my typed journalling and assembled the tags using some twine to hold it together.

I added embellishments to the front of the vellum envelope and added my title between my photograph and the vellum envelope.

We would love you to share your layouts over on our Facebook page.

Till next time

Happy scrapping and a Happy New Year

See you in 2020

I Am The Storm | Karen Moss | Hidden Journalling

Hello, hello Karen here with my hidden journalling page for this month's challenge.

Our daughter has been working as a doctor in A&E and has not enjoyed it at all - the work and hours are challenging both physically and mentally but she is changing jobs at the end of January so there is light at the end of the tunnel.  I wanted her to have something tangible to know how proud we are of her and decided to write a letter, I printed it out twice - one for my layout and one to pop in her Christmas card.

I saw the quote in a magazine, advertising a bracelet with it engraved on, and thought it would be the perfect sentiment to send to her.

I added an envelope to my layout, with a piece of card attached to the flap and popped my letter into the envelope.

I embellished the front of the card, adding a photo, which I screenshotted from Instagram - hence the close cropping at the top to eliminate Gracie's Instagram name.

I am delighted with the result and think this may well be my favourite layout this year!

There is a process video here showing more detail of how I made this, I think you will agree, extremely well hidden journaling page.

I hope you can squeeze in a little time to be creative over the next few, hectic weeks and wish you an early Happy Christmas.

Karen
