Marvelous Day | Kirei Baldwin | Small Photos

Hi Scrap Addicts!

Kirei here with my layout for this month's theme which was to use small photos on a layout. I love using small photos so this was right up my street!

I used a fab cut file from the Silhouette Store by Paige Evans and backed the little hanging photo frames with patterned papers from Pink Paislee's 'Pick Me Up' collection (also by Paige Evans!).

I attached three photos to the cut file using paper clips. My photos are printed on a Canon Selphy using the '4 up' setting with borders. I like to use a border on my photos as it helps them pop from the page.

I embellished the cut file and photos using stickers from the 'Pick Me Up' collection.

I then added a title, as there are lots of lovely word stickers in the collection I made up a rather long one straight down the page which helps draw the eye back up to the photos.

I added some journalling at the top of the page and called it done. Really love how this turned out!

The rest of the Team have been creating with this theme all month so there is lots of lovely inspiration for you! So why don't you join in with this month's 'Small Photo' theme and share your layouts over on the UK Scrap Addicts Facebook page.....we love to see what you create!

Thanks for looking, happy scrapping!

Books and more Books | ScrappyNerdUK (Claire) | Small Photos

Hey there!!

So this months theme is small photos. What a great way to include small photos in a travellers notebook. I love scrapping in a travellers notebook when I have photos of something that is a smaller story that I want to document but not necessarily warrant a full 12x12 layout in my album.

I used a paper from Paige Evans Oh My Heart collection (desperately trying to kill this kit!!) as I have had this in my stash for ages and this was the perfect project to get it used up. The shelves reminded me of my book shelves. I have recently moved and wanted to create a little nook area where I can go and read and this photo captured this just perfectly.

So I trimmed the paper to fit into my travellers notebook. I am using a Simple Stories one currently and these ones are a little wider than the standard TN size. This really helps me showcasing the amazing patterned paper and really brings the whole theme together. I fussy cut some elements from another one of the papers which had some cutaparts on and used these as embellishments around my photo. This is a great way to make your collection go so much further when you are running out of ephemera etc.

I knew that in the collection there was a die cut that would be perfect to use as my title - Books and More Books!! I popped this on the opposite side and used a black fineliner to create some faux stitching around it to help it stand out a little more.

I added on a book sticker from the Paige Evans sticker book and 1 chipboard piece that says "all you need is a good book". I also used this area to add some journalling on. I don't journal much on my 12x12 layouts but find myself being drawn to adding more journalling in my travellers notebook - especially those random smaller stories that you want to remember in years to come.

My layout felt almost complete but decided to channel my inner Missy Whidden by adding in some lengths of thread in co-ordinating colours and these are layered behind the top left and bottom right of my photo cluster (along with a couple of flower stickers, also from the PE sticker book).

And the layout is finished. I love how colourful this layout is and really encourage you to try and travellers notebook if you haven't yet. Its a great way to scrap on the go, when you don't have much time or even if you have those smaller photos that would look lost on a 12x12 layout.

Be sure to head on over to Youtube to watch the process video for this one too.....

See you next month with a new theme!!!

Disney Selfies / Jackie Ashton / Small Photos

Hi scrappers, Jackie here, with my layout for this month theme ‘using small photographs’ - something that I love to do if I have a few of the same theme of photographs.

I decided for this months layout I would used a selection of selfies from my last visit to Disneyland Paris earlier this year.

The collection I used is Echo Park - Wish Upon a Star collection, which is a non-Disney collection  but the colours, phases, ephemera, die cuts, chipboard etc all work well with Disney photographs.

I used a patterned paper as my background and added a strip of patterned paper down the left hand side.  Added a punched border strip, and a ‘star’ border sticker down the opposite side.

I printed off a few selfies photographs, which are approximately 2.75 inch square and then decided which ones to use on my layout.  I ended up with 6 cascading down the page and added some 3D foam to a few of them to given a bit of dimension to the page.

I kept my embellishments simple and using stickers, chipboard, enamel dots from 'Wish Upon a Star' collection and a  few punched Mickey head in black cardstock, and added some  mouse wood veneer which I purchased from Pretty My Page, which are just so cute and perfect for my page.

For my title I used two different set of Thickers from my stash and added some wood veneer chevrons.

This layouts came together quickly and it is a great way to add loads of photographs to one 12x12 page.

Don’t forget to share your layouts over on our Facebook page, we would love to see them.

Till next time ....

Say Cheese | Lou Thompson | Small Photos

Something I have been wanting to try more of is using multiple photos on a layout. This month's theme to use small photos presented the perfect opportunity.

I used free app 'photogrid' to create some collages of small photos which I then sent to the be printed using the Free Prints app.

I began by adding a piece of Prima's Havana foiled paper to my navy stripe main page. On the diagonal, I added a dotty sticker, blue ribbon and a 3 circle sticker.

I cut up 5 of the small photos I printed of my nephew having fun at the park.

I backed these with some green paper to make them stand out from the background

I added some flowers, stickers, puffy words and hearts and gems.

I then used some foam squares to added the photos to the layout in a diagonal shape.

Hope you liked this layout and give your own layout with small photos a go.

Create Your Own Dream | Karen Moss | Small Photos

Hello, hello lovely crafters.  I have my small photo layout to show you today.  I have to admit that this is my most favourite layout that I have made this year which was a surprise to me as I don't usually like Graphic 45 paper!

I used Graphic 45 Imagine and absolutely love the peach and blue combination.   I started with the 'B' side of a piece of Castles in the Air, trimming a quarter of an inch from the top and one side and then adding to a piece of cream cardstock. I then used a stencil and some texture paste mixed with pearl acrylic paint (from The Range) to add some shimmery texture to my page.

I then added four 3 x 4 cards, adding my two photos to the middle two, using the top card as my title and the bottom one for journaling.

Finally I fussy cut clusters of balloons and cogs from Create Yourself, flowers from Beautiful Dreamer and butterflies from Spread Your Wings.  I added these to my page to finish it.

You can see a process video on how my page came together here.

Why don't you grab a cup of tea/coffee and some bikkies and spend a while browsing the blog and our YouTube channel to see what the other ultra-talented ladies have made this month x

Lazy Days / Create with Cayleigh / Small Photos

Hello Scrappers!

This month's challenge was to use small photos.I picked this silly photo of myself curled up on the sofa with my dog (that's the black blob I'm cuddling!). I wanted to pick a photo that I normally wouldn't scrap-but lazing on the sofa with my dog is one of my favourite things to do so I felt I should have a layout of it!

Here's the video of how I made it :)

I've created  a Page Map for this layout & I would love you see you use it. Please share your creations on out Facebook Group-UK Scrap Addicts!

See you again soon,
Love Cayleigh xx

Apple Bobbing | Lisa-Jane Johnson | Small Photos

Hey there lovely crafters!  Is anyone getting in the spooky spirit yet?  I absolutely love Halloween and couldn't wait to break into the new Simple Stories Vintage Halloween collection.

I have a few Halloween photos from a visit to Beaulieu last year where some of us tried out hand (face?) at apple bobbing.  It's a place full of interesting things which is lovely but not when you want to focus on the main element of the story.  I do have photos of the wider view but for this layout I cropped the 6x4 photos down to 3x3 to hone in on the main elements.

I took the middle out of the black patterned paper and then cut a 3 inch strip of the orange pumpkin and filled the rest with the off white paper that has this amazing layered effect already printed on it.

I mounted my small photos on off white cardstock to give a better contrast against the busy papers.  Because of the layered look in the paper, the layout didn't need much in the way of embellishments.

I used part of a cobweb border cut file from the Pretty My Page shop to the left and right edges and then added a couple of stickers from the collection.  I also added a very old ticket from October Afternoon, some very old Jenni Bowlin letter stickers and some black gems for texture.

We look forward to seeing your layouts with small photos!

Happy crafting.

Adorable | Sarah Costain | Small Photos

Sarah here today with my layout using a small photo.

Autumn is my favourite time of year so I love a seasonal layout or two.
To create my background I used a leaves stencil and texture paste. I then added colour using Mermaid Markers and a little water. Once this was dry I splashed Color Shine on top.

To add some texture and height to my photo I added some tissue paper followed by paper layers (mostly from an older Mind the Scrap kit) which I distressed with scissors. To pop it all up I added fun foam to the back.

My title is a Perspectives by Bramble Fox, I love to use premade titles like this and the colour really helped draw attention to my little boy in the photo.

The cute illustrated stickers by Mrs Brimbles added a whimsical touch to the layout.

For a finishing touch I added sequins and enamel dots in amongst the leaves.

You can check out the process video over on the UK Scrap Addicts YouTube channel, just click here.

Thanks for joining me and have a Happy Scrappy Day :)

Travelling through Autumn! | Small photo's | Ramblings of Geo

I decided this month to step away from Smashbooks, and show you a spread i did in my travellers notebook!

I only put my instax photos in this one, so it was a perfect excuse to print some autumnal photos of my dogs on a walk in the park.

I used the Vicki Boutin Color Wheel stamps in the red, orange, and yellow theme. I used a nice vibrant Autumnal yellow as the back ground for one page, i made leaf prints with a stencil i recently bought of a fellow scrapper on a facebook selling site.

I used my Mind the scrap kit for the ephemera of the little girls, and the stickers were mainly from the Amy Tangerine Shine on booklet.

Helping Hands | Elaine King | Small Photos

Good morning all

Didn't you just love this months prompt over on the UK Scrap Addicts Blog? I love to use small photos as it is always great way to use up several photos at once.  Here is the layout I made this month using the prompt

When I am doing this I usually use a photo editing app. In this case I used Pic Collage so you can make lots of photos fit into a grid. I find that most online photo printing services will offer a 'square photo' option these days. I have discovered that the UK photo printing services of Snapfish offer a 4" square option and Free Prints offer a 5" square option. In this case I used the 5" option from Free Prints rather than print the photos out myself.

To make this layout I used 4 photos that I had set into a square. In these apps you can often choose a background colour too. In this case I chose a cerise pink background which I echoed by using a cerise pink piece of cardstock as my background.

Once I had cut apart my four photos in the grid I used them with a page kit from Crafts4Eternity

I made some home made embellishments using washi tape for the central square and highlighted some of the black that features within the patterned papers.

I made a cluster in the bottom left with more punched black card and some die cut circles that served as a journaling spot.

I then punched a 2" heart for co-ordinating card and covered in sequins too. Each of the squares that were not photos were cut and layered to give each a cerise pink frame too.

To finish I added flowers from my stash and some black puffy alphabet stickers that I got from The Works.

My only dilemma is the title.. should it be Helping Hand..or Helping Hands??? You decide!!
