Pampered Beasts | Zoe Hailey Zola 28 | Lisa Fonseca Style Page Element

 Hi Everyone

Welcome to my layout inspired by Lisa Fonseca style page element ; our September theme in UKSA. I was a little daunted by this assignment as Lisa is so amazingly talented, but I kept cute critters and hand stitching in mind when I made my page.

I don't have the talent to hand cut all the fantastic  animals that Lisa does, so I turned to my trusty Cricut to cut a couple for me. I chose a tiger and a bear, which were perfect for this layout of my children at "Mummy's pamper salon". We had a Sunday afternoon of face masks, manicures and pedicures and each of the children's masks had cute animals printed on them.

I hand stitched around the face of each animal in a corresponding embroidery thread, using all 6 strands of thread. I also stitched around their noses & mouth. I popped the animals up on foam and tucked my 3x4 landscape photo behind the bear. I used the clear stickers from the Cocoa Vanilla Studios Legendary collection to create a water colour affect around my photo.

The Wild and Free title was hand cut from one of the journaling cards and I added a couple of branding strips at the bottom to ground my layout. I used some Indian ink to create black splats around my page, this helped bring in the black from the animal faces. I added a sprinkling of enamel dots around my journaling and the photograph.

I really love the fun nature to this page and it captures perfectly the memories.

If you take inspiration from this months  theme, please do share your layouts over on our Facebook page, or tag us on Instagram I'd love to see what you make!

Happy Scrapping

Shine Bright | Zoe Hailey zola28 | Paper Folding

It looks like many of you are enjoying this months theme of paper folding, I have loved looking at the layouts that have been posted in the Facebook group.

I settled on folding hearts for this months layout but only after attempting to fold Santa hats, butterflies and numerous other objects which all ended badly. Paper folding and me are not good friends!

Eventually this layout came together, I concertina folded  a rectangle of paper along the length at every 1/4inch and folded it in half . I cut the top and bottom into a semi circle shape and glued it in the middle. Tieing some metallic embroidery thread into a bow for each of the three hearts.  Thankfully I remembered a paper folding class I took at GoGo Getaway where we did something similar.

I combined Shimelle's Field Trip and Crate Paper's Falala collections to make my background. I hand stitched some stars at the top of my page to bring that metallic thread up into my design. T hen the fun began with splatters using my Pebeo artist marker.

My 'shine bright' title is a perspective from Bramble Fox and was totally perfect for this layout of my two youngest children, which was taken after their Christmas performing arts showcase.

Thanks for reading how this layout came together and I hope you have fun paper folding!

Gorgeous| Zoe Hailey| Multi Photos

Hi Everyone

Welcome to October and our theme of multiple photos for the month. I hope you enjoy creating some layouts and taking inspiration from what the UKSA ladies have come up with.  I love trying to get more than one photo on a page, as it helps me catch up (whatever that is) with my scrapbooking!

I've created my layout using some photo booth images that I had from a friends wedding that we went to in June. I had four pictures but a friend photo bombed us in one, so I left her out!

I worked with some of the last of my Unforgettable stash from Cocoa Vanilla Studios, trying to pick up the brown from the frame in the images with the background wood grain paper. Yet again I ended up cutting out loads of those beautiful flowers.

It is not often I design a layout with multiple images vertically down my page, it took me a while to find a composition I was happy with, but I got there in the end!

Other than the Happiness collection, I have managed to use some Tim Holtz tiny word stickers (which I adore), some Nuvo drops, a freckled fawn foam word and the amazing 'Gorgeous' from Bramble Fox.

Thanks for reading and look forward to seeing your multiple photo layouts in our UK Scrap Addicts Group on Facebook.
