Fun Times Mini book | RamblingsofGeo | Mixed Media

Hello everyone,

Today i am bringing you a mini book with mixed media pages. Its a slight cheat as i had a pre-made scrapbook in a tin which i bought from everycraftsapound.com at the Farnborough Craft Show.

There is also a process video linked below for you :)

I'm using this minibook to document my recent trip to the Gogo getaway retreat that i went on with a few of my friends. I thought it would be a great way to document the trip! I have also used some bits from my left over kit for the mini book as another reminder of the weekend.

I used a Heidi Swapp Colour shine in Teal for the back grounds, my technique was spraying it onto a damp piece of plastic, smooshing it around and then pressing it onto the paper.

I then mixed up some Shimmerz Dazzlerz paste in Spun Sugar, with some Shimmerz paint in the colour Going Peach Side. Once this was mixed i pushed it through a Bramble Fox stencil  which has a mixture of little Stars, which i used on the pages, also has circles and stripes etc.

You can see that i also added sequins for some extra texture, the sequins used were from Spiegelmom scraps. I had a pack called Tweaky Teal, and a pack called Bursting Sunrays. I love how they add extra sparkle to my book.

On a few pages i used the Shimmerz texture paste that you can see below, it was so easy to mix up to make a coloured texture paste, i think i am going to be addicted to using texture paste to all my layouts now!

I hope that this mini book gives you some inspiration to use mix media on some layouts in the future!

Iridescent Wedding | Black background | RamblingsofGeo

Hello everyone,

I have followed this month's theme with a 12x12 black cardstock, i have used the Vicki Boutin Iridescent texture paste, along with some Black texture paste and pushed it through a Vicki Boutin stencil from the most recent Mind the scrap mixed media Kit.

The texture paste is beautiful in person, there is large chunks of glitter along with very fine particles making a lovely shimmery effect.

I hope you find inspiration from this layout, and carry on to show your creations within the UKSA facebook group!

Choose to Shine | Punches | Sarah Costain

Sarah here today with my layout using punches.

I don't own all that many punches, but for some reason I have about 6 different sized star punches!! So that was my starting point for my layout.

I applied clear gesso to my page which was a night sky scene from a kit by Thompson's Crafts available here. The gesso helps my page withstand any mixed media I throw at it.

I punched out various sized stars from mirror card and the left over trimmings from my photo. I added these on top of a silver texture paste and spray background.

To frame my photo I matted it on more mirror card and added a glitter embossed frame.
I cut apart words from another paper from the kit to create tiny word stickers and quotes.

Some sweet kawaii stickers, nuvo drops and sequins added more sparkle to my page to finish it off.

You can check out the video process over on the UKSA YouTube channel here.

I hope you will dust of those punches and give this challenge a whirl!!
Have a Happy Scrappy day :)

Create Your Own Dream | Karen Moss | Small Photos

Hello, hello lovely crafters.  I have my small photo layout to show you today.  I have to admit that this is my most favourite layout that I have made this year which was a surprise to me as I don't usually like Graphic 45 paper!

I used Graphic 45 Imagine and absolutely love the peach and blue combination.   I started with the 'B' side of a piece of Castles in the Air, trimming a quarter of an inch from the top and one side and then adding to a piece of cream cardstock. I then used a stencil and some texture paste mixed with pearl acrylic paint (from The Range) to add some shimmery texture to my page.

I then added four 3 x 4 cards, adding my two photos to the middle two, using the top card as my title and the bottom one for journaling.

Finally I fussy cut clusters of balloons and cogs from Create Yourself, flowers from Beautiful Dreamer and butterflies from Spread Your Wings.  I added these to my page to finish it.

You can see a process video on how my page came together here.

Why don't you grab a cup of tea/coffee and some bikkies and spend a while browsing the blog and our YouTube channel to see what the other ultra-talented ladies have made this month x

Beautiful | Elaine King | One 6 x 4 photo

Good morning all

Thanks for joining me again on my journey showcasing British suppliers in the UK Scrapbooking industry. It gives me so much pleasure to support these small businesses and share my experiences with you all.

For this month's prompt the Creative Team were tasked with creating a layout using just one 6 x 4 photo. As this is something I do regularly I wasn't fazed by this challenge but I wanted to share some techniques with you that may inspire you to get involved too.

To start with I took several pieces of scrap white card stock and cut them into rectangles and layered them on a white background. I adhered them with medium gel and spread texture paste using a pallet knife to create texture. I also used a stencil with the same texture paste to add further interest.

Next I took some Tim Holtz Distress Oxides, (bought from Crafts4Eternity in Weston Super Mare) and added some pink and grey and misted with water to give it a splattered look. Once dried I then took an inch off each edge and layered the white cardstock onto a pink sheet of card (having gutted it first to use later).

I then took some scrap of pink and grey patterned papers an arranged them over the top of the textured rectangles with some die cuts I'd had for a while in my stash that one of my dear friends had cut for me. We got to know each other through the UK Scrappers forum and I am still an active member there. It's a shame more people aren't so if you have a spare few minutes, why not pop over and say hello?

Anyway.. then I used some Prima washi tape, also sourced from Crafts4Eternity from one of their add ons from a monthly page kit, and layered this too.

Finally I added the photograph that I had matted on  the gutted pink card and decorated with flowers from my stash. The little word expressions to the left of the photo are from a sticker sheet from Kaisercraft called P.S. I Love You as is the little heart above the photo too.

I do hope you like the layout and it gives you some ideas how to use some of your scraps and add dimension.

Thanks for stopping by!

Believe | Karen Moss | Monochrome

Hello, it's Karen here with my first page for UK Scrap Addicts and this month's theme is monochrome.  For this page I chose to add mint green to black and white and used a black and white photograph to emphasise the theme.

I predominantly used papers from Kaisercraft's Mint Wishes, which is a Christmas range, for this page as I had two sets of the sticker sheets and some left over pieces of paper.

I used the UK Scrap Addicts free cut file to make a stencil and added crackle texture paste to give my page dimension.

I chopped up the phrases from the sticker sheets to make a non-Christmassy phrase for my journaling and as you can see I splattered some mint green ink over my page.

My page was finished with some chipboard and stickers and the title 'Believe' with a few green gems.

I have a video of how this page came together on our YouTube channel here.

So until next time 'Happy Scrapping' and pop back soon to see what the other UKSA designers have been up to xxx
