Purr-fect | Lou Thompson | Stamping

This month is all about showing how you can really make stamps an integral part of a layout. With this in mind, I thought a monochrome theme might work really well.

I therefore began with some white cardstock. As I wanted to use a picture of my cat, I thought this black and white sheet went well as it reminds me a little of paw prints. I cut a triangle and use tape to stick this to my cardstock

I then used another white paper with a subtle marble effect on to back my photo. I inked this with black memento ink and stuck them at an angle.

I then stamped across the diagonal using some embossing ink and added a glitter embossing powder and heat set it

To the bottom left of the page I then added lots of different stamps and stickers. I also added some music note stamps around the frame as well as a camera and stars stamp above the frame.

I decided at this point that the embossing was too much so I added some more triangles of paper of this and a clear word sticker. The sticker was put onto one of the papers and fussy cut to make it stand out from the background and added some cardboard to the back of the sticker.

I hope you like the layout and will consider using more stamps in your layouts.

Lisa-Jane Johnson | You and Me | Stamping

Hi everyone, it's Lisa-Jane from Pretty My Page here with you today and I'm sharing a layout that gave me a LOT of trouble!

I came across my embossing powders the other day so I was determined to use them on this challenge to get stamping.  I went on a retreat and only took a small number of stamps - this was my first mistake of several over the weekend which meant that my finished layout ended up looking nothing like I had planned.

I had been playing with some Distress Oxides using the smooshing technique and embossing the butterflies in gold on top to make a background but I didn't like what I made.  I was running out of time so I ended up fussy cutting the butterflies out instead

I gave my photo several mats including some gold spotty vellum and I also used the vellum to back some die-cut flowers.  They are designed to be poinsettias (heading for the Pretty My Page shop in December) but they look very different depending on the colours used.

Then I scattered the butterflies on the diagonal adhering just the centres so that I could fold up the wings for dimension.

Then I added a brief title in white and gold letters and I'll pop the journalling along the bottom when I get a moment of quiet.  I've just realised that I don't have any enamel dots on this page which I think is the first time for about 18 months!

Happy Thoughts | Amy Kattenbelt | Stamping

Hi, I'm here today to show you my layout for November, with the theme of stamping.

This month I decided to scraplift myself as I had had so many comments about my original layout and requests to make a process video to show how it was created.

Please do check out the You Tube video to see how the layout came together.

I used a stamp set from Crate Paper called Wild Heart which has lots of different leaves. This technique would work well with lots of different stamp sets though...a floral selection in bright colours would be perfect for summer photos!

Once my stamping is finished I add a layer of paper behind my photo, a few carefully chosen stickers and ephemera pieces, some enamel dots and a date!

We are looking forward to seeing your layouts using Stamping over on our facebook group, so do come and join us if you aren't already a member!
