Summer Escape | Terri Morris | Punches

Hello there UK Scrap Addicts, I'm here to introduce this month's new theme which is 'punches'. I'm sure if you are like me then you have an abundance of neglected punches in a box or drawer in your home. I loved my punches but they have been gathering dust in my craft room for a while now.

I pulled out 3 different punches determined to use them on my layout this month. I have used the Martha Stewart 'butterfly', Stampin' Up tag and bow builder punches. These are some of my favourites and very much all rounders.

I punched numerous butterflies from patterned paper to use as embellishments.

Nuvo drops in a scattered diagonal pattern across the page add subtle colour to the white cardstock background.

A line of different sized tags made from patterned paper that co-ordinate with the butterflies add colourful detail to the bottom of the layout and provide an area to place the Bramble Fox perspextive title.

Beauty | Terri Morris | No Cardstock

Happy New Year from all at UK Scrap Addicts!

I hope you've all had a fantastic festive period and are now settling in to 2019. As we head in to a new year I'm looking back at some of the amazing trips I've had over the last few years and trying to get the memories in to my albums.

This month's theme her at UK Scrap Addicts is to create a layout using NO CARDSTOCK. Now this can be hard in the current trend of white cardstock backgrounds, so go on give it a go.

So I have a confession to make.... This layout has been sat part done on my desk for quite a while. Then the other day it just sprang to life in my mind and it came together super quickly,

I used lots of scraps of patterned paper to create layers behind my photo and across the whole layout. Tucking some pieces of embellishment behind the layers and the large flowers on top with 3D foam.

To create extra texture on the layout I added some hand stitching.

Great Memories | Terri Morris | Tic Tac Toe

Hey guys how are you all getting on with this summer heat? My craft room is on the top floor of our 3 storey house and is crazy hot during the day. I’ve managed to do a little scrapping in the evenings with a fan on. I love this month’s theme of using the Tic Tac Toe as inspiration for a layout.

I chose to use the middle horizontal line, so focused on using arrows, circles and washi tape. I have so much washi tape it was great to get some used!

I used gold texture paste through a Dylusions circle stencil to create the background on kraft cardstock. While also adding some circular embellishments such as stickers and a flair badge.

The three strips of pattern under and on top of the kraft cardstock are all washi tapes. Those 3 phrases under the title were also cut from a roll of travel themed washi tape.

I combined the arrow and washi tape by adding a washi with arrows on as a strip across the middle. I used a Bramble Fox arrow perspextive and some arrow stickers.

This layout came together really quickly and is one of my recent favourites. The photo is from our trip to Jordan and I love how they have road signs warning about camels!

Delightful Day | Terri Morris | One 6x4 Photo

Well here we are in the 6th month of the year, seems like only yesterday we were celebrating new year. I'm desperately trying to use up some of my older stash (so I have an excuse to buy more!). This month we are focusing on using a 6x4 photo on our layout. The current trend seems to be very much in favour of using smaller photos (3x4 or 4x4) so it was a nice change to be challenged to use this size.

I added some gesso to the wordy patterned paper and added water colour and mists to the background using the packaging technique although much of it is actually covered by the photo and ephemera.

I've never quite known what to do with the pompoms from the Maggie Holmes 'Carousel' collection but grouping three together in a few areas on this layout gave it some much needed texture. 

I added lots of layers of paper, chipboard, puffy stickers and stamping to create groupings of embellishment around the main photo. I've used a few random pieces like the big wheel but as it was a Museum of Illusion I thought it fitted in quite nicely with the story I was telling.

Hi scrappers, Jackie here with my take on this months theme ‘tags’.

This is my layout ...

 and as you can see I went for the 'more is best approach' and die cut various sizes of tags from patterned papers and used them as a base for my photographs.

I used Crate Paper - Here and There collection, which I purchased from Hey Little Magpie.

I mainly used the 6x6 pad, and a few scraps that was left over from a previous layout, as well as added with printed vellum from the same collection to give my page some added texture and detail.

Before laying the tags across the page, I added some ink to the background using Tim Holtz - Distress Inks and the packaging technique, then added white thread to each of the tags.

I also added some hidden journalling behind the photographs, tag was cut from white cardstock and I added a piece of patterned paper on the front, with the journalling on the back.

I added my photographs to my layouts mounted then onto some 6x6 pattered paper.

I then finished my layout with some chipboard and puffy word stickers from the collection and some wood veneer from my stash.

For the Love of Hummus | Terri Morris | Tags

How can it be April already?! Where is this year going! Although the weather here in the UK has been a little crazy this Spring. It was just Easter Monday that we woke up to a couple of inches of snow here in South Yorkshire. Hopefully Spring will soon be here and we can start enjoying the outdoors more. My fiancé is not a fan of the winter so we usually have our main holiday in January.

I've been scrapping my most recent trip, this time to Egypt and Jordan. It wasn't hot but it was a great change of scenery. One of the main things we noted was the amount of hummus we ate. I think we had it almost every day.

I'm using the beautiful Crate Paper Here + There collection for this layout. I pretty much bought the whole collection from Hey Little Magpie including 2 of the map paper because I love both sides.

The new theme on UK Scrap Addicts this month is to use Tags on our projects. I used all the tags from the ephemera pack to use as decoration on this layout.

I kept all the decoration over to the left hand side of the page in order not to cover up the map on the background.

I used some geotags from the sticker sheet to mark both Egypt and Jordan on the map paper.

North South East West | Terri Morris | Large Photo

This month's theme of large photos is great for me. I often like to add them to my travel scrapbook pages. They are a great way to create a clear divide between countries or cities if travelling around.

To create this layout I printed a 9x12inch photo and then trimmed it down to approx. 6x12inch. The cut file was from the silhouette shop and I love how it turned out backed with this paper from the Shimelle 'Go Now Go' collection.

When I use a large photo I often layer my embellishments over the top of my photo as you lose a lot of white space when having such a big photo. I stuck with the Shimelle collection for the embellishments for this page. I have mega heart eyes for those puffy hearts, I have to admit that I bought 2 packets.
